Protection Policy
Elm Ridge Methodist Church is committed to ensuring that all those associated
with the church and all those who come to our grounds have a positive
experience. Therefore, we are committed to ensuring that young people who take
part in our activities or come on to our church grounds are “safe from harm”.
We will ensure that:
- All are treated with
respect
- Activities take place in a
safe and secure environment
- All adults working with
young people (aged up to 18) obtain Disclosure through the Criminal
Records Bureau, and a new Disclosure is obtained every five years.
- All those who have any duty
or responsibility or hold office within the church have never been
convicted of, or received a police caution concerning a sexual offence
against a child or young person
- Opportunities exist for
young people and parents/primary carers to talk to us about any concerns
they might have.
- Adults associated with Elm Ridge Methodist
Church will look out
for signs of abuse and take appropriate action if they become suspicious
or if a young person or parents/primary carers express a concern about
abuse.
